WGS Systems is looking for Mechanical Engineers with varying experiences and backgrounds in aerospace and defense electronic system and product design, and fabrication, to join our company in Frederick, Maryland.
The primary responsibilities of our mechanical engineers are:
Airborne platform integration, including mounting interfaces, cooling provisions and cable design and routing
System interface definition, coordination and compliance, including mechanical, thermal, electrical interfaces
Generation of 3-D CAD models of racks and enclosures using SolidWorks
Mass properties and geometric analysis
Thermal analysis and design for electronics components and systems
Structural and thermal analysis of electronics components and systems
Mechanical tolerance analysis
Close interaction with aircraft and multiple engineering disciplines
Direction of project design/drafting and documentation efforts
Provide engineering support to prime contractors
Planning and coordination of hardware development, fabrication, assembly and laboratory testing
Proposal writing, concept preparation and trade studies
Minimum Requirements:
BSME degree with at least 5 years of applicable experience or MSME with 3 years of applicable electromechanical design experience.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and drive the mechanical design from concept to deployment.
Experience generating and maintaining project schedules and have effective communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
Proven success interacting with multiple engineering disciplines as well as customer and subcontractor representatives.
Ability to quickly determine design viability well as developing computer simulations and analyses of the sensor various electromechanical systems.
Prior experience with ground and airborne systems. WGS Systems, LLC specializes in electronic product development and in the integration of sensor and processing systems for prime contractors and the government, with focus in airborne sensor and mission systems integration.
Candidate must be a United States citizen and will be required to obtain and government security clearance.
