WGS Systems, LLC of Frederick, MD has initiated a program to achieve AS9100 certification by September of 2021.

AS9100 is an internationally adopted and standardized Quality Management System (QMS) for the aerospace industry. It was released in October 1999 by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the European Association of Aerospace Industries (EAAI).  AS9100 fully incorporates the entirety of ISO 9001, while adding requirements relating to quality and safety.  Major aerospace manufacturers and suppliers worldwide require compliance and/or registration to AS9100 as a condition of doing business with them.

WGS achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification in 2016, launching their PACE (Pursuit of Agility and Continuous Excellence) QMS program.  They have maintained certification, with their 5th consecutive successful annual inspection in 2020.  Bob Wise, President and CEO of WGS issued the following statement:

“We are extremely proud of our quality achievements over the past five years.  We embrace continuous improvement and have a well-defined path to AS9100 certification with our PACE program.  This is strategically important as we continue to expand our business in airborne systems, space, cyber and commercial applications, providing excellence in engineering services, American-made electronics solutions and international integrated systems.  This is important to our customers and it is important to us.  Quality and consistent dependability build trust.”

“Expansion of our PACE program to AS9100D will focus on bolstering our counterfeit part prevention, risk analysis and mitigation, and product safety.” stated Chris Garlick, WGS Quality Manager.

“WGS Systems continues to position itself to be able to better respond to growing industry and customer needs by training our internal auditors to these upgraded requirements, reviewing and updating our PACE procedures and documentation to be compliant to this standard, and training the remainder of our personnel to these requirements.”
